Osteopath & Owner of Back 2 Basics Health Care
Robert is an experienced osteopath who has worked in a range of private practices and with sporting athletes. He graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) and completed postgraduate training in clinical pilates and lower and upper limb biomechanics.
Robert believes strongly in not only treating your pain, but also identifying the underlying cause and reduce the risk of the injury recurring. He also feels it is very important to establish an on-going exercise regime to improve your health for the future.
Robert is passionate about restoring pain free movement in patients using techniques such as joint mobilisation and manipulation, taping, soft tissue mobilisation, dry needling, and specific exercise prescription.
Assessment of upper and lower limb biomechanics and implementation of targeted retraining programs has been his particular area of interest. Optimising the efficiency of running technique can improve symptoms, while reducing rehabilitation time frames and the risk of future injury.
Through working with various athletes and wide cross section of the community, Robert has gained experience treating a wide range of complicated biomechanical shoulder and leg injuries including shoulder/neck pain, patellofemoral pain, foot and hip pain.
Robert has an ongoing interest with the Australian bush, its flora, fauna and Aboriginal history. Originally from NSW, he now lives in Melbourne with his partner and two young daughters, Sunny and Estelle.
